The dress code

The administration is the final authority concerning propriety of clothes, hairstyles, and jewelry.

1. Clothing or any other items may not, in words or in pictures, advertise drugs, alcohol, or tobacco or have sexually suggestive, vulgar, obscene, or violent messages.

2. Hair must be of natural human color, kept clean, combed neatly, and kept out of the eyes. Extreme designs or hairstyles are not permitted.

3. Facial hair should be neat, clean, closely trimmed and not be a distraction to the learning environment.

4. No visible tattoos are permitted

5. Contact lenses will be clear or natural human eye color.

6. All head coverings and sunglasses are prohibited in the building during school hours

7.  Sleepwear, pyjamas, and swimwear are prohibited.

8. Knives are prohibited in the school  building or at any school events.

9. No visible body piercings (other than in the ears) will be permitted. Clear placers will be permitted (assuming they create no distraction), but Band-Aid cover-ups will not be allowed.

10. Gauges or very large holes in the ear are not permitted.

11. Appropriate shoes will be worn at all times; socks, house shoes, cleats, or similarly styled shoes are prohibited.

** Students found in violation must change clothing before returning to class. The first offense will result in a warning; offenses after the first will result in lunch detention. Further violation will be subject to additional consequences.

Pants:

1. Pants/Jeans will be worn at natural waistline, not above or below. No sagging will be permitted.

2. Pants/jeans must be appropriately sized, fitting in the waist, crotch, and legs - not baggy, oversized or excessively tight.

3. No skin above knee may be showing through any fray in pants/jeans. Holes from knee down should be no larger than 3". Jeans should not have an excessive number of holes in them.

4. No undergarments should be visible above the waistline of the pants/jeans.

Shirt:

1. Shirts will not be allowed with sleeves ”cut-off” or removed. Males may not wear sleeveless shirts.

2. Shirts must be appropriately sized in the shoulders, sleeves, and length - not baggy or excessively tight; they should e free of hols, splits, frying, or patches.

3. The display of cleavage is unacceptable. Low cut blouses, tops, sweaters, etc. with plunging necklines is not allowed.

4. Spaghetti straps and shirts with skinny straps are not allowed. Shoulder blades should not be visable outside the shirt.

5. Proper underclothing must be worn. No undergarments should be visable with any shirt.

6. Shirts will be tuckked in if excessive in length. The shirt should not extend beyond the bottom of a student’s fingertip when arms are at his/her side

7. No midriff will be showing; tops that show bare midriff when the student’s hands are extended with arms locked above the head are not permitted.

Shorts, Skirts, Dresses:

1. The length of shorts will follow the ”finger tip” rule. When a students is standing in relaxed stance with her hands at her side, no part of her shorts should be shorter than where the middle fingertip lies.

2. Skirts and dresses should be no shorter than tree inches above the top of a girl’s kneecap.
